Alan Martin is one of the two Conservative Councillors representing Folkestone and Hythe district in the Walland and Dengemarsh ward. First elected in 2023. Alan has always lived in the area and passionate about representing local residents. He sits on the Overview and Scrutiny and Finance and Performance Sub committee as well as the Joint Transportation Board.
Alan runs a health risk management business that supports insurance companies and public sector organisations (e.g. NHS) to enable people to take responsibility to manage their health, build resilience to disease and ensure everyone has access to the right support when they need it.
For the Marsh – his key focus areas are:
· Speed and volume of traffic (inc. HGVs) through our villages
· Fly-tipping and rural crime
· Local jobs and economy (New modular reactors at Dungeness Power Station)
· Climate change: Protecting the Marsh from flood
· Protecting the Marsh from the threat of multiple solar farm developments proposed on Farmland
