Kieran is a lifelong resident of Folkestone with deep roots in the community, tracing back generations. He attended Park Farm Primary (now Folkestone Primary Academy) and the Harvey Grammar School, swam competitively for Folkestone, earned a black belt at the local karate club, and was an active member of the local cadets. Like many in the area, he has relied on the Royal Victoria Hospital and local buses, giving him firsthand insight into what works, what doesn’t, and what needs to change.
After graduating with a First from the University of Nottingham, Kieran stepped up for his community during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, joining the South East Coast Ambulance Service. He later moved into marketing for the hospitality industry, supporting a campaign to protect jobs as the sector struggled to recover.
His dedication to public service then took him to the heart of government, where he worked as a senior adviser to a Member of Parliament. In this role, he championed local issues, tackled major challenges – including pushing for investment in nuclear energy, addressing small boat crossings, revitalising the town centre, and protecting young people online – and supported thousands of constituents through complex casework.
Now, he serves as a Folkestone Town Councillor and NHS Governor while working in public affairs for a leading international health and wellness company.
