Sean McKirdy is a dedicated, results-driven professional with a strong commitment to common-sense governance, economic responsibility, and protecting local services. As a Chartered Engineer and Director of an engineering consultancy, Sean has built a career on problem-solving, efficiency, and accountability—values he now wants to bring to local government.
A Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) and a STEM Ambassador, Sean is passionate about education, skills development, and inspiring the next generation. He is a strong advocate for protecting our grammar schools and ensuring every child has access to a high-quality education that supports aspiration and achievement.
Sean believes in sensible, sustainable development and will prioritise building on brownfield sites rather than sacrificing our precious greenbelt farmland. He fully supports and will protect the Conservative-led Kent County Council’s No Use Empty scheme, which has successfully revitalised derelict properties into much-needed homes, ensuring existing spaces are used efficiently before any unnecessary new developments.
Committed to delivering value for taxpayers, supporting local businesses, and strengthening infrastructure, Sean will work to cut waste, ensure responsible spending, and stand up for hard-working families. He is also dedicated to safe and thriving communities, protecting green spaces, improving transport links, and upholding law and order.
With strong Conservative principles and values at his core, Sean McKirdy is the experienced, pragmatic, and committed choice to deliver for our community.
